Kembrey-Sales Residence

The Brief

Working to a design by local architects MUD Landscape Design to convert an uneven backyard space into an entertaining area, pool and play area for four young boys.

The Problem:

A restricted, small site with limited access to allow the simultaneous construction of the pool, deck and landscape features.

The Solution:

Great communication between contractors and the clients allowed the project to flow with minimal disruptions. Works were planned to give individual trades access at key times to ensure a high standard of safety and quality was achieved.

The Result:

A beautiful, lush garden space which retained an existing frangipani tree, was connected via a flowing recycled herringbone brick pathway, into a detailed spotted gum deck overlooking the pool area. Decking saved during the demolition process was used to construct a functional pool pump shelter with openable roof, while an in-ground trampoline and basketball ring were installed to ensure the space was not just beautiful but practical and fun for the children.

The Feedback:
Focus have very experienced builders and landscapers, and their staff have a wealth of knowledge that helped us to make all of the difficult decisions that come with renovating. Having such a lovely team on site during the Covid lockdown also helped us to stay sane during that time!
